I’m all signed up for An Event Apart, Seattle. By far my favorite part of conference-going is meeting other people who get excited by the same things I do. I’ll be traveling with 9ruler, and “celebrity blogger” Brian Warren. An Event Apart will coincide with the official launch of our new consortium, so we wanted to throw a small event of our own.
Our group has been working together now for almost 5 months, and it’s been quite an experience. Big changes are in the wind:
- CSS freak of nature Brian Warren has officially gone solo.
- We’ve launched our first collaborative project. Some good stories there, and when we have a place to write about them, we’ll do just that.
- Vincent Thome has also officially said goodbye to his temporary cubicle job. I think he wants to become a blogger when he grows up.
So, we’re inviting anyone attending AEA, or really any Seattle area web nerds, to join us for what we’ve tentatively named MAEBAEAS (Method Arts Event Before An Event Apart Seattle). There will be free beer while our bar tab lasts, as well as some really cool free t-shirts (I don’t expect we’ll run out of those, but you never know). And all we want is for you to tell us all about yourself. Bring your business card, bring a friend, just show up.

Yo Mark,I started reading way back when you first launched this site design and I'm still here. Does that count for something? I'm not going to be at ALA b/c I've opted instead to go to the Carson Workshop in SF. Are you going to be there?
Has any of this convinced you to hook me down with a free shirt?
Damn, I think I'll be getting in a bit late for this, but sounds like fun. I'll pass the word along to the other Seattle area Web nerds I know. Oh, and I'll be at ALA and Blue Flavor is hosting drinks afterwards, so come say hello!
